About Emily
Hello! My name is Emily and I began Emily’s Elder Care because I want to support individuals who want to remain in the comfortable familiarity of their own home. I enjoy helping others and it has been a life passion of mine. My 30+ years of caregiving experience includes a variety of helping young and old, and everyone in between:
- Home Care agencies supporting the elderly and/or mental health conditions
- Assisted living care provider
- Residential case management for individuals with disabilities, and direct care provider
- Drug and Alcohol treatment center, in-patient case management
- Sexual Assault support team
- Domestic Violence safe house
- Resident Assistant in college dorms
- Babysitting children of all ages
- Stay at home mom with my children
- Preschool teacher
It brings me great joy to know that I can make a positive difference in the lives of others. A sense of purpose and connection is important for all of us, but remains important as we age. The holistic care that I can provide includes the whole person, supporting mind, body, and spiritual wellbeing. I hope that I can bring some brightness, encouragement, and laughter to others.
A little more about me!
I live in Mount Horeb, with my husband and two daughters. We are all big animal lovers and have a dog, cat, backyard chickens, and a gecko! This past summer, we started fostering rescue dogs and really enjoy connecting dogs with loving new owners. We even adopted our last foster dog. Her name is Brit and she is goofy and snuggly. In my free time, I enjoy being outside (unless it is bitterly cold!). My interests include: hiking, bird watching, camping, cooking, reading, yoga, listening to music, travel, and Zumba. Spending time with my friends and family is important to me.
